This third installation of Cirque du Soleil’s ever popular outdoor summer spectacle, The Royaume de Tôle (or Tin Kingdom) brought it’s most successful show to date to Quebec City’s summer festivities in 2011. Following a day in the life of the “Emperor” and his trusty sidekick “The Prime Minister”, the audience is swept up into the frenzied existence of this King of the Junkyard. He is at once King and Jester and quite sure he has everything under control to throw the biggest party (Banquet!) the world has ever seen.

Set in Quebec City’s St. Roch district and uniquely installed under a highway overpass, audiences of around 3000 per night assembled to witness this offering which utilized large shipping containers to create an alternate world of re-purposed creativity. State of the art projection (Moment Factory), lighting and rigging as well as costume, makeup design and original musical composition from Bob and Bill featuring the unforgettable Elsian with her unique vocal abilities allowed the artists and directors the bring this vision to life.

I had the honor of directing key elements of the show including: The Quator Stomp/Teeter Board act, Pre-show animation, Main Characters and more. After wearing the many hats during creation I took the helm as Artistic Director for the summer and continued to make improvements up to the very last show.
